Alternative Kidz - The Childrens Magazine With A Differance
I started Alternative Kidz because I believe that the children's magazines available to young readers are poor quality and offer a bad deal. What's more, most contain inappropriate references to sex, fashion and the "stars", largely exclude boys and are more concerned with raising good consumers than good citizens.
To me all children are "green" and caring. They are growing up in a fast moving, complex world and the more information they are given about it the better.
Alternative Kidz offered a more relevant read for children and encouraged a wide range of activities and interests including physical pursuits. It also backed the views of "green" parents by giving food for thought on the way the world is developing.

RECENT DEVELOPMENT
Surviving the UK magazine market was a real challenge and being independent and advertising-free made progress difficult. In order to survive Alternative Kidz developed some 'advertorial' content.'
Even after taking this difficult decision the magazine continued to lose money and so it was that reluctantly in December 2007 we decided to hold on publication until such time as a suitable financial set-up could be found to support its existence.
