ALTERNATIVE KIDZ WAS A UNIQUE CHILDRENS PUBLICATION. It was a children's magazine for boys and a children's magazine for girls. It was even a childrens magazine for parents!

Alternative Kidz was packed with everyday ideas relevant to childrens' lives. Interesting articles, creative crafts, physical challenges, news, views, puzzles, posters and regular travel and cooking features. Alternative Kidz was a subscription magazine that came out four to six times a year for over five years. Back issues are still available and offer an informative and educational read as well as fun and games.

THE ALTERNATIVE CHILDREN'S MAG

AlternativeKidz was published by husband and wife team Lucy & Clive Farndon.

They started the magazine to broaden the very poor selection of magazines that were available to UK junior children as they outgrew pre-school titles.

They created something more interesting and less commercial than the high street titles which emphasised the positive possibilities of modern childhood away from computers and shopping.
